  REVIEW:

Flushed Away is all about that delightful, mysterious little world on the other side of . . . your toilet!

When we were sure we’d never find a British movie that we liked, this one came along and caught us off guard.  Flushed Away is an animated creation from Dreamworks.  Hugh Jackman is an upper class rat who is left at home one weekend to fend for himself.  Through some mishaps and an unwelcome guest, he ends up getting flushed down the toilette and lands in the sewers beneath London.  He’s mortified to find himself in sewage and sure he’s doomed until he comes across an enormous rat city in the tunnels.  He’s determined and will do anything to get back home until he learns the rat city is in danger of being completely destroyed.  He joins forces with Kate Winslet to set our and save the rat race.

While there are definitely some great animated movies, many rely solely on the thrill of the animation itself.  Well, for us, the thrill is gone!  We’ve seen enough of these things.  That being said, Flushed Away is actually pretty entertaining.  It’s a good story, there are numerous interesting characters, the music is spectacular . . . it’s cute . . . it’s funny . . . even with those annoying English accents and being set in a sewer city threatened by an apocalyptic wave of urine, it’s everything a kid’s movie should be!  In fact, we're really not even sure why it's rated PG.  It's very tame by today’s standards, and kids of all ages are sure to enjoy it.
